Salkehatchie Summer Service
Huntersville Camp 2004
Friends & Supporters

Salkehatchie Summer Service wouldn't be possible without the help and support of many individuals and organizations. On this page we list those who have thrown their support behind our 2004 Camp. Thanks to all of you! It wouldn't be possible without you.

Many people know IBM as the world's largest provider of computers, software and I/T services. Fewer people know that IBM contributes significantly to the communities in which it operates. IBM has donated $1000 to this year's Salkehatchie camp in Huntersville.
Anyone who has ever worked on a Salkehatchie site knows that a tremendous amount of time and effort is spent removing trash. We are thankful that BFI, as they did last year, will be donating dumpsters to each of our sites.
The Lowe's Improvement Warehouse in Huntersville, NC did a great job supporting us at last year's camp. This year they are helping even further by letting their customers who are renovating know that we will take away their old kitchen/bathroom cabinets and provide them with a tax receipt.
The Salkehatchie Summer Service in Huntersville wouldn't be possible without the help of HUMC. In addition to providing us with a campsite HUMC's many volunteers support the camp by providing meals and skilled labor. Billy Rintz, pastor and Perry Brittain, Youth Director provide the spiritual leadership for the camp.
Love INC, Charlotte chapter is our newest partner this year. Love INC exists to mobilize area churches to reach out to a hurting and needy world in the Name and Love of Christ. Love INC has helped expand the presence our camp by introducing us to homeowners in Charlotte.
We are grateful for the support of three United Methodist Churches in Charlotte, St Paul's United Methodist Church, Calvary United Methodist Church and Dilworth United Methodist Church. The are combining forces provide lunches for our campers who are working on Charlotte-based homes. Myers Park United Methodist Church will provide showers for our Charlotte-based campers. First United Methodist Church of China Grove will be providing a lunch for our Huntersville-based campers.
The Wynfield Forest Homeowner's Association will allow us to use the shower facilities at their clubhouse during the camp. Our campsite at HUMC doesn't have any shower facilities so we are grateful to them.
Meadowlake Presbyterian Church and New Friendship Presbyterian Church will be serving us lunches during the week of our camp. Huntersville Presbyterian Church has agreed to provide their gynasium for our use if any of our outdoor events are rained out.
The Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics Center will be giving us use of their outdoor waterpark one of the evenings of our camp. It will be a welcome relief from the July heat!
The Home Economist has graciously donated snacks for our teams working in Charlotte. They will certainly be welcomed on those hot days. The Home Economist has two locations in Charlotte at 5410 E Independence Blvd and 2707 South Blvd.
The YWCA Central Carolinas in Charlotte has stepped up and offered up their shower facilities during the week of our camp.
A number of folks in the community have made donations to the cause. Hank and Laverne Trojan have donated a stove. Lou Spitzer, a Director at Love INC, renovated his kitchen and gave us his old kitchen cabinets. Noelle Davis has moved into a new home and has donated her old kitchen cabinets to our camp. Liz and David Branch donated a washer and dryer. Patti Stiene, part of our planning team had a stove and dishwasher donated. Bill Ratliff, who'll be one of our site leaders, has donated some building supplies.
Dr. Gina LiCause has agreed to see any of our campers if they need a doctor. We hope we don't give her any business but we're delighted that she's there if we need her. Dr. LiCause's office is located at 10215 Hickorywood Hill Av, Huntersville, NC 28078.
Jersey Mike's Subs in Cornelius will be providing the meal for our campers on Saturday evening. They are located off I-77 at Exit #28. The address is 20619 Torrence Chapel Rd, Cornelius, NC 28031-6395. Thanks alot!
The Wynfield Home Owners Association has agreed to give us use of their shower facilities during the camp.
Thank you to Mack Robinette who helped us out tremendously with the plumbing for our Huntersville homes. If you ever need a plumber give Mack a call at 704 361 4679.
Ron Steele Plumbing helped us out big time when we needed some plumbing assistance with one of our Charlotte homes. If you need a plumber in the Charlotte area you can reach Ron at 704-338-1385.
The Community Phone Book helped us out by making a cash donation to our camp. Thanks a lot!
